West Union policeman resigns

West Union Mayor Linda Oliver has confirmed this morning the resignation of one of two town police officers. After three years on the force, Ed Barnaskey turned in his resignation Saturday and is working a two-week notice. He is said to be bound for a job with the neighboring Walhalla Police Department. Oliver says she’ll be meeting with the remaining officer, Chief Mike Eppes, to discuss how West Union will go about filling Barnaskey’s position.
