Westminster accident involved three vehicles

The police say an accident this morning at a Westminster intersection involved three vehicles and sent two people to the hospital. The police say the accident shortly after 7:30 began when a car attempted a turn off U-S 76 onto Hobson Street and was struck in the rear by a small truck. Truck driver Jimmy Allen Ramey of Clayton, Georgia was un-injured in the accident, but the police say Ramey was issued a ticket charging following too closely. The drivers of the car and an SUV, which later became involved after the first impact, were taken to the Oconee Memorial Hospital. Rory Jones, Westminster police captain, said neither of the injuries appeared to have been life-threatening.
