Westminster announcement

August 14, 2012

The City of Westminster issued the following press release this afternoon: “In the wake of Police Chief Scott Bannister’s resignation on July 16, 2012, the City of Westminster appointed Mike Crenshaw as Interim Police Chief. All aspects of the Westminster Police Department are under review by Mr. Crenshaw and the City Administrator, David Smith. As a result of their inquiries into the department, questions have arisen regarding activities which potentially could involve criminal acts. Accordingly, the City of Westminster has turned the matter over to the State Law Enforcement Division for investigation. The City of Westminster cannot give any additional information at this time since this is an ongoing investigation by law enforcement. Nothing in these developments will compromise the City of Westminster’s ability to provide quality police protection for its citizens.”
