Westminster leaders consider the future

Westminster leaders met in executive session last night to begin to think about what’s after the eventual departure of their city administrator. No action was taken after what ran as long as an approximate one-hour meeting. City Administrator David Smith tells 96.3/WGOG NEWS he’s not planning to leave anytime soon, but it would be wise for the mayor and council to begin to consider who or what comes next. In a couple of years Smith will reach 65 years old and he’s not sure how much longer he’ll work. Smith wears a couple of hats for the city. When he arrived in 2004, he worked for the Commission of Public Works as utilities director. When the CPW was abolished, Smith retained utilities director and accepted the mayor and council’s offer as city administrator.
