Westminster man arrested in theft investigation

Oconee sheriff’s officers arrested a Westminster man at his Highland Avenue home Friday on theft charges from an investigation two weeks earlier on the Greenfield Road near the city limit. According to authorities, Tony Mitchell Mulkey was also charged with breaking into a motor vehicle at a home at the crime scene. Deputies began investigating November 4 after the homeowner saw someone run away from her home. The homeowner then found several items missing from her property—including a boat trailer, boat motors, lawn mowers, and various vehicle parts. Items stolen carry a value of $10 thousand and, so far, investigators have retrieved only a few of them.
