Westminster Man Faces Drug Charges

August 28, 2014

A Westminster man is facing drug charges following an investigation by the OconeeCounty Sheriff’s Office. The sheriff’s office arrested 44 year old Andrew Casere Fant of Debroah’s Way, Westminster on two outstanding warrants, one of which was for a drug charge. According to Sheriff’s Department Spokesman Jimmy Watt, on August 12, a deputy responded to the Deborah’s Way address in regards to a witness who noticed several marijuana plants in a pot at the residence and then later observed Fant dispose of the plants in an area off the property.  The pot the plants were growing in and the plants themselves were later discovered by the deputy.  Watt says, as the investigation continued, warrants charging Fant with manufacturing a quantity of marijuana were obtained by the Sheriff’s Office.  Fant was arrested Tuesday morning and booked into the OconeeDetentionCenter.
