Westminster man implicated in Georgia crime

An Asheville, North Carolina man’s car was reported stolen in Rabun County, Georgia, and a debit card inside his wallet in the car was used to make purchases in Oconee County. Oconee law enforcement authorities say a Westminster man has been arrested and charged with related multiple offenses. Twenty-four-year old Michael Allen Underwood was jailed yesterday in Walhalla. Among the charges of receiving goods fraudulently are allegations that the debit card was used to make transactions at a Seneca store and at restaurants in both Seneca and West Union. According to a Sheriff’s Office statement, Underwood faces three charges filed by other police agencies.
