Westminster’s choice is Awalt

Two men with Seneca police backgrounds are going to lead the Westminster Police Department.  Dean Awalt has accepted a $54 thousand offer to succeed Scott Bannister as Westminster Police Chief.  In recent weeks,OconeeSheriff-elect Mike Crenshaw has served as the interim chief. Westminster also promoted Patrolman Rory Jones to Lieutenant.  As such, Jones will serve as second in command and act as chief when Awalt is absent.  Awalt starts his new job one week from today.
