When it comes to fixing South Carolina roads

Whatever it takes to repair South Carolina roads, Bill Whitmire of Walhalla says he is going to support. The District One representative to the state House of Representatives looks forward to the opening of a new session of the South Carolina Legislature a week from today. Whitmire is starting his seventh, two-year term. As a member of the Ways and Means Committee, Whitmire predicts lawmakers will take up a new budget right away. When asked if there will be additional money in that budget for road work, Whitmire said road repairs are the lawmakers’ top priority in 2015. He considers the condition of South Carolina’s roads and highways to be some of the worst in the country.
