Why Dan Pollock is beaming today!

The Walhalla Partners for Progress leader has a smile on his face today, basking in the good spin from yesterday’s announcement that the Palmetto Trail will extend to the County Seat.  He’s Dan Pollock, and he has a story to tell about how the Palmetto Conservation Foundation, based in Columbia, became interested in extending the trail, from its current end at the Oconee Station State Historic Site to Kaufman Square, the block on which Walhalla’s Depot and park grounds are located.  That story is told by Pollock on 96.3/WGOG NEWS.  Yesterday’s announcement was heralded by Mayor Danny Edwards when he said, “The extension into Walhalla will add about 16 miles to the mountain end of the Trail providing both biking and hiking opportunities.  Prominent on the new passage is StumphouseTunnelPark, home to the historic pre-Civil War railroad tunnel to nowhere and the beautiful IssaqueenaFalls.”
