Why you need a will, attorney explains

The example of the music superstar Prince points up the need to have a will.  Only days after the death of the reclusive millionaire, reports circulated that he may not have left a will.  In such a case the assets of his music empire are thrown into chaos.  A Seneca attorney, Paul Cain, recommends everyone have a will.  A simple will, he says, can be drawn for a few hundred dollars.  Only about 30% of adult Americans have wills, and some of those may not be up to date.  Cain says reasons that many people don’t have wills are illogical.  Some people fear if they go to the trouble of getting a will, they soon will die.
