Wi-Fi arrives at community club, fewer dead zones

Wireless technology has reached one of Oconee’s rural outposts, and the president of Long Creek Community Club says Wi-Fi is certainly welcomed and needed. Chanda Morrison says Wi-Fi on the grounds of the community club on highway 76 gives the public there access to the internet from inside the building or from sitting in a car in the parking lot. She gives credit to the Oconee Public Library for this technological achievement in an area where many residents still can’t access the worldwide web. Morrison spoke to 96.3/WGOG today about this and about plans to reviving the community club and, perhaps, build a multi-use park there.  You can hear more on this Sunday’s ‘Community Sound Off.’
