Work finished on recreation and access areas

Duke Energy has completed improvement work at recreation and public access areas on lakes Keowee and Jocassee. The projects recently completed on Lake Keowee are the Stamp Creek access area, Keowee Town access area, South Cove County Park, and Mile Creek County Park. Improvements include adding courtesy docks to existing boat ramps, installing handicap accessible vault toilets, adding and enhancing picnic sites, improving handicap accessibility, upgrading lighting, and expanding parking. A handicap accessible fishing pier was added to the Stamp Creek access area as well. The pier includes fish-friendly habitats beneath it. Improvements at Devils Fork State Park on Lake Jocassee include installing handicap accessible vault toilets and new boat launch ramps, and adding trash/recycling collection areas and picnic sites.
