The Lake Keowee community and other Oconeeans are preparing for the annual visit by the wounded military service personnel—often referred to as the “Wounded Warriors.” And preceding the June 17-20 visit will be a fundraiser the night of Wednesday, May 29. From 7 to 9 that night at the Lighthouse Restaurant Cabana Club, everyone is invited for complimentary barbecue meal with donation, along with a cash bar, entertainment and games and prizes. Organizers hope you’ll bring your money and checkbooks because all proceeds benefit Honoring Their Service/Community for Marines, Inc. Tim Callahan says during the Wounded Warriors four-day visit a typical week of lake-related and other activities are planned for their enjoyment.
