YoGo Express coming to West Union

Word has spread in recent days that where a Dairy Queen Restaurant in West Union once stood will come a replacement restaurant, offering a similar fare. That word was confirmed to 96.3/WGOG NEWS: “YoGo Express has purchased the Dairy Queen building in West Union, and we plan on rehabilitating the building,” Scott Shaffer told us late yesterday. He and his wife, Patty, plan to bring the kind of restaurant which they already operate at Dogwood Plaza near Seneca. The Shaffers hope to open the Main Street, West Union YoGo Express in August—although he says the vacant building must be rehabilitated. Shaffer is mindful of the Dairy Queen tradition and he’s confident that the dining public of the West Union area will enjoy the breakfast, lunch, and dinner offerings, along with the types of ice cream for which the DQ was known.
