Zoning exception approved

Campground coming to Jefferson Road nearWest Union, as the result of action last night by the Oconee Board of Zoning Appeals.  The board approved a special exception that’ll allow Ronnie Hughey to establish a 16-unit campground inside a lake residential district.  Two conditions were attached to the approval:  Hughey must obey all codes and ordinances of the county and he is required to have a registered engineer to submit a storm water pollution prevention plan.  The special exception was granted on a 5-1 vote, with Paul Reckert opposed.
