$10 million lawsuit filed in Oconee

A lawsuit has been filed in Oconee County, alleging a teenager was attacked during an overnight party that followed a West-Oak High volleyball game nearly three years ago.  The lawsuit claims the victim, 15 years old at the time, was subjected to sexual assault to the extent that the teenager suffered mental instability and required hospitalization.  Seven people were named defendants, including the man that the lawsuit identifies as the owner of the home where the party took place.  Damages of $10 million dollars are sought.  According to the lawsuit, the Oconee Sheriff’s Office investigated the incident and its case report was made an attachment to the court pleadings.
