$10M investment headed to Seneca, Dietterick says

A new development to make as much as a $10 million investment in Seneca by locating on property adjacent to the new Hampton Inn and Suites was announced by Seneca’s Greg Dietterick during last night’s meeting of the Oconee County Council. The city administrator used the agenda spot for extended public comment to extol the partnership and cooperation between the city and the county which, Dietterick says, is paying off in jobs and tax revenue. Projects such as Walhalla Streetscape, a new county jail, the Oconee Industry and Technology Center, and the Seneca Industrial Center were examples of what Dietterick says has him excited for the future. The new development Dietterick referred to as “Project Dawn” he said is bound for the 34-acre property along Seneca’s E.N 1st Street which is set aside for mixed use. Neither while speaking to county council or to reporters later did Dietterick give specific details of the development, but he said the time for that is coming.
