1st Steps launches needs assessment

The organization that concentrates on giving children a boost into the education world will open a series of hearings this week to update the needs in Oconee County.  First Steps and its director, Marie Dunnam, hope as many Oconeeans as possible—especially those with young children—will pick out a hearing to attend this month.  The hearings start at 6 tonight at the Walhalla Library.  Six o’clock evening hearings continue tomorrow at the Westminster Depot and Wednesday at the Seneca Presbyterian Church.  Others will take place in other parts of the county week of May 15.  “It’s called an Early Childhood Community Meeting,” Dunnam says.
