20-year old man charged with school burglary

A 20-year old man has been arrested and charged with burglary this week at the Tamassee-Salem Middle and High School.  The Salem police say that, with the help of the Oconee Sheriff’s Office, Randal Ramey of the Wander Road, Salem was arrested Wednesday morning and taken to the Oconee Detention Center.  The police say the charges against Ramey are burglary second degree, petty larceny, and malicious damage to real property.  Around 9:30 Monday night, an individual entered the school hallway by breaking a glass window on an outside door.  While the individual was inside, several items belonging to the school district were broken and fire extinguishers were set off inside classrooms.  And it was discovered that a computer monitor was taken from a teacher’s desk.
