Turkey hunters beware!

U-S Forest Service land covered by leaves and invasive saplings is to be burned tomorrow in a prescribed burn on April 1. And that’s no April’s Fool, according to Mike Hastings of the USFS. Hastings says hunters on the first day of turkey season will be wise to avoid an area north of the Cassidy Bridge Road—between the Chauga River and Hell’s Hole Road. It’s a two-hour burn, beginning at 10 in the morning, though the area is liable to be off-limits all day tomorrow. The prescribed burn is to cover 877 acres.
