Seneca property to be annexed

Seneca-owned property east of the city limits is being positioned to be annexed. During city council’s regular April meeting, the council gave its mayor and its city administrator the authority to sign a petition to annex Seneca’s property at the former Pro Pex manufacturing plant adjoining the Utica community. In tandem with Oconee County, Seneca is developing an industrial park at the location that is also to be the location for the city’s fleet of electric passenger buses. At the start of last night’s meeting, audience member Allen Yarid asked city leaders about the rules classifying distressed properties and their eligibility for tax credits. We’ll play back Mayor Dan Alexander’s reply today on 96.3/WGOG NEWS.
