Tree Board suggests Cypress

Westminster City council received a recommendation that the city consider Carolina Sapphire Cypress trees to replace seven oak trees that were recently removed from a block of Main Street at the Grey Street underpass. The oak trees fell victim to reasons of safety and aging. After hearing the recommendation from Chairman Greg Sluder of the Tree Board for cypress as the replacement tree, council took no action and accepted the recommendation as information.
