A conference call on those electric buses

After a conference call today, Seneca’s point man for passenger bus service said it’s his gut feeling that the city’s electric buses will return some time in mid-summer. And that Ed Halbig believes would mean they would finally begin service some time later this year. Halbig took part in a telephone call with Clemson Area Transit and Proterra of Greenville—the bus manufacturer. Two of the buses, he said, were inspected by a third party and repairs made. Halbig says those buses have been subjected to 200-mile road tests. Once they are returned to Seneca, he said, it’ll be a matter of inter-acting them with the city’s three charging stations to make sure all is OK.
