Achievement award topped Seneca meeting agenda

A City Hall presentation of an achievement award topped last night’s agenda for the Seneca City Council.  At the start of the meeting, the award was presented by Jeff Shacker, representing the South Carolina Municipal Association.  The statewide group regards Seneca’s finished water plant project as enhancing public safety–especially to the residential area fronting the plant on the Normandy Shores peninsula.  According to Bob Faires, utilities director, top priority for the city was the switch to a sodium hypochlorite disinfectant in place of an old and hazardous gas chlorine disinfectant.
