Arrest made in stabbing near Seneca

A 36-year old Oconee man has been charged in the investigation of the stabbing yesterday morning in the Keowee Community.  Announced today were chargesagainst Highlands Highway resident Jonathan William Duncan.  The charges are attempted murder, domestic violence second degree and the possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.  9-1-1 was alerted shortly before 9 yesterday to an incident on Knox Landing Road.  The Sheriff’s Office gave this account:  “Deputies arrived on the scene and discovered a male that had suffered multiple stab wounds and was covered in blood.   The victim was transported to the hospital and later flown by helicopter to Greenville. Before arriving on scene, deputies were informed that the suspect, identified as Duncan, had left the scene, however, deputies learned that the Duncan maybe was in the house next door.  Deputies discovered Duncan in the house.  Duncan was taken to the hospital for treatment for a condition unrelated to the incident.”  According to investigators, the motive for what happened appears to be a domestic related incident involving Duncan and his spouse in which the victim tried to intervene.  Duncan will be sent to jail upon his release from the hospital.
