Arson alleged last week in Fair Play

A man who had to be pulled to safety at the scene of a Fair Play fire has now been arrested.  The Oconee Sheriff’s Office this morning announced the arrest of Kyle Jacob Bowman on the charge of arson second degree.  An arrest affidavit signed by officer Timothy Rice alleges the 23-year old Bowman last Friday “willfully and maliciously set fire to a dwelling house belonging to Julie Bowman.”  Deputies went to  S. Davis Drive for a structure fire.  They discovered that an individual, later identified as Kyle Jacob Bowman was pulled from a trampoline by a bystander to get him to safety.

He was attended to by paramedics.  Investigators then requested help from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.
