An investigation is being required to get to the bottom of why uninhabited mobile home burned early Saturday near West Union.  Walhalla Fire Department assisted West Union volunteers at the scene of the single-wide mobile home.  Heavy fire damage occurred at the Rose Drive location near the Burns Mill Road.  Fire fighters were alerted at 4:30 am.

A police-involved shooting turns fatal last night at the Wal-Mart in Easley.  Deputy Coroner Tommy Page says the victim was 33-year-old Easley resident Shawn Elrod.  Elrod’s death at 7:13 last night is described as an active investigation by the coroner’s office, the Easley police, and the state Law Enforcement Division.
