Ballot questions

Oconee voters who make their way through the November ballot will find much more than popular choice for offices such as President and Sheriff. They also will be asked to decide a couple of ballot questions. For instance, Seneca voters will vote on whether their city’s stores and restaurants should be allowed to sell and serve alcohol on Sundays. Countywide, there’s the question of whether the terms of a 1976 successful referendum should be changed to allow county government to go into the wastewater treatment business in unincorporated areas and apply funds for that purpose. And Oconeeans, as well as voters statewide, are to mark yes or no November 6 on whether that, starting in 2018, candidates for Governor and Lt. Governor must run on the same ticket. For those who are unregistered voters, the deadline to register and be eligible to vote in the election is October 6.
