Bank takes precautions in case of card fraud

Customers of an Oconee-based bank have been notified that they may have been at potential risk in a case of debit car fraud. Community First’s Fred Sheppard says when his bank was notified by its credit-card processors that debit cards of some of the bank’s customers are likely to have been compromised. Sheppard says his bank reacted quickly by contacting the customers potentially affected. In some cases, the cards were cancelled immediately and new cards issued.
