Be alert, allow for delays as schools start

Any time schools go back into session it’s good advice to stay alert around school zones and allow for delays.  The opening of Oconee public schools on Tuesday carries special attention for a section of n. highway 11, the Cherokee Foothills Scenic Highway, where a new $54 million dollar Walhalla High School will open its doors.  For the first time highway 11 work traffic and leisure traffic will mix with school traffic.  And Jimmy Watt, spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office, can’t stress patience enough.
