Beaverdam Baptists moving to downtown Seneca

A deal is in the works that will land the largest organization of Oconee County Baptist churches in Seneca’s downtown.  The Rev. David Shirley, Director of Missions for the Beaverdam Baptist Association, confirmed today that deals are in the works for the association to sell its 43-year old building on the Sandifer Boulevard and buy The Vault, the event center at Seneca’s Townville and North Second streets.  At that location, the Baptist group is excited about a building that was designed for multiple uses including weddings, receptions, seminars, banquets, and worship services.  The building name, The Vault, takes its name from many years as a corner bank location.  Because not all due diligence has been completed, Shirley says, he is not at liberty now to disclose the buyer for the Beaverdam Baptist Association’s home on the Sandifer Boulevard, not far from Wal-Mart and other large commercial businesses.  But he expects the deals to be completed by the Christmas holidays.
