Ben Skardon’s 100th birthday events

Clemson University celebrates the 100th birthday of Col. Ben Skardon in three events on campus.  Skardon is an alumnus and professor emeritus best known for surviving the Bataan Death March during the Second World War.  Local, state and national honors will be bestowed during a private lunch at noon.  The public is invited at 4 o’clock on Williamson Road in front of the football stadium between gates 1 and 5.  Guests can sign birthday cards, briefly greet Skardon, and have refreshments.  A short ceremony will take place at 4:30.  A musical tribute will cap the day.
