Bo knows biking, but what about Les?

Walhalla attorney Les Shayne harbors no illusions on how well he can keep up with a renowned former pro sport standout when it comes to a bicycle ride, but he’s in it for the exercise and the money it will raise for cancer research. Shayne is leaving for Alabama to be part of Bo Jackson’s 62-mile bicycle ride to raise money to go toward research. He’s doing it in the memory of an uncle who died of leukemia in 1992 as well as in the memory of three Oconeeans who lost their lives to cancer, along with other county residents who have cancer today. Shayne says he’s accepting tax-deductible contributions for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
