Boil water advisory for parts of 188

Seneca has announced a boil water advisory for its customers in the area of S-C 188, including Westwood Bay subdivision. A broken water line has necessitated the advisory, according to Bob Faires, utilities superintendent. Besides Westwood Bay, the advisory area runs along 188/the Keowee School Road to Elizabeth Cain Drive and takes in the following locations: Luther Land Road, Beacon Shores, Saxony Forest, Petty Road, Clearwater Drive, White Harbor, and Lakeside Estates. Faires says the public will notice crews flushing hydrants for pretty much the rest of the day. In the meantime, out of precaution, those affected should boil their water vigorously for up to one minute before drinking or cooking purposes. As for laundry or showering, the water should be fine by running the tap to rid the water of any cream-like color. For more information, you can go to the city of Seneca website.
