Bracing for the event!

Oconee and the Upstate, along with north and northeast Georgia, are bracing for a significant weather event. A winter storm watch has been issued beginning at 6 tomorrow morning through 7 Thursday morning. Lake Hartwell Radio WLHR quotes meteorologist Harry Geripetritus of the National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg as saying this is going to be a two-part storm with flurries beginning tomorrow morning. Then by Wednesday, Geripetritus says the main system will hit as a low pressure system moves through. Our area can expect a good accumulation of snow with some freezing rain mixed in. By Thursday, sunshine returns and we begin to warm up with temperatures back into the 50s by the weekend.
