Bridge to be closed for repairs

A bridge repair project this month will require the closing of a section of a rural road near Westminster. Mack Kelley, Oconee County Engineer, says to make repairs to the Cobb Bridge over the Chauga River, the bridge will be closed temporarily to traffic. The plans call for the repairs to take place from Monday, September 16 to Monday, October 21. If you need to travel that section of the Cobb Bridge Road, you are asked to use the entrance off highway 76 directly beside the Calvary Church of God. An alternate entrance is one-tenth of a mile beyond the Blackwell Road on 76—about 6.5 miles from Westminster.
