Bull elk tranquilized and moved again!

The bulk elk that roamed upstate South Carolina, the first sighting of its kind in a couple hundred of years, was seen yesterday at the Keowee Key Golf Course.  And, according to the SC DNR, the elk was tranquilized and moved to a remote spot in the South Carolina mountains.  Walhalla area residents say the same elk was also seen the other day in Falcon’s Lair north of the city.  A spokesman for the DNR said, “It is a federal violation to transport animals across state lines. (Animals can move themselves across state lines, which was the hope.) Antlers from the young bull elk were removed at that time, for safety reasons.”
