Can Oconee withstand a disaster, natural or man made?

Top Oconee County public safety officials will deliver a public presentation on the county’s capability to withstand disasters–whether they be natural or man made.  And there will be two opportunities for the public to attend.  The Oconee Republican Party has secured the use of Seneca’s Gignilliat Community Center for the occasions.  The first will be Monday, September 11–which happens to be the anniversary of the worst terror attacks on the United States.  The second will be Monday, October 9.  Both programs start at 6 pm.  Guest speakers September 11 will be Scott Krein of Emergency Services, and Mike Crenshaw, Travis Tilson, and Ken Washington of the Oconee Sheriff’s Office.  Representatives of community organizations and others have been invited to conduct the October 9 event.
