Candidate questions office’s account

A candidate for 10th Circuit Solicitor says a financial account of the office of more than $1 million dollars raises questions, and he’s seeking answers.  Wilson Burr called a news conference at Walhalla to question an account amounting to $1,258,701.00 and announce that he’s seeking an audit along with a state investigation.  The money is held by a wealth management company for the office of Circuit Solicitor Chrissy Adams.  But Adams says what Burr is calling for is unnecessary because the money is held by a long-standing account that was in place before she took office.  Adams says the account is used for retiree health insurance and benefits “and nothing is being done wrong with that money.”  The solicitor, who is not seeking re-election for health reasons, says Burr’s problem is that he doesn’t understand the inner workings of her office.  Burr is a former public defender who now seeks the office that Adams is vacating.  Two other men, David Wagner and Rame Campbell, are running, also, and Burr indicated to reporters he’s going to make the account an issue at a political forum that is scheduled to start at 4:30 this afternoon at Keowee Key.
