Car driver charged in Seneca multi-vehicle accident

The driver of a Toyota 4 Runner was charged by the Seneca police in yesterday morning’s accident involving three vehicles on Wells Highway–a busy time when traffic was headed to work and school.  According to the police and fire departments, the accident occurred nearly in the Wells Highway intersection with S. 4th Street.  Besides the Toyota 4 Runner, the other vehicles were a second Toyota and a tractor-trailer truck.  Sgt. Ross Ragsdale said driver Taylor Mahoney was charged with too fast for conditions and driving under suspension.  She was sent by ambulance to a Greenville hospital, but officials described her injuries as non-life threatening.  In the impact, according to Ragsdale, the Toyota 4v Runner dislodged a gas tank on the tractor trailer, creating a diesel spill and what the officer called “a massive debris field.”  Traffic was temporarily detoured.
