Career diver speaks tonight in Salem

Before water covered it, there was a popular summer camp near Salem called “Camp Jocassee for Girls.”  Bill Routh is one of the few people who has seen the camp’s remnants.  A career diver, Routh has made his way to the bottom of the deep Lake Jocassee and seen what’s there—at depths greater than 300 feet.  He will share his experiences at 6:30 tonight at the Salem Library as part of the Oconee Public Library’s Land Before the Waters series.  The public is invited.
