Absentee voting normal for mid-term election

By the 5 pm deadline yesterday, 1,434 Oconee County voters had cast absentee ballots in the primary elections. Child hurt in inner tube accident

A tubing accident yesterday afternoon on Lake Keowee sent a child to the hospital for treatment. An immediate condition on the child was unavailable. Clint Livingston of Oconee Emergency Services says a 12-year old was hurt in the accident when the child’s tube, being pulled by a boat, hit a tree in the vicinity of Fall Creek Landing.
