Change to City Hall water policy

No longer may one Walhalla representative decide whether a water customer’s complaint is valid.  Councilman Tjay Bagwell, chairman of the utilities committee, announced a new policy during the November meeting last night of the city council.  From now on, customer complaints are to be referred to the three-member city council utilities committee.  The committee will make an appointment with the customer to review the complaint and take the appropriate action.  Two weeks ago, Councilman Lamar Bailes and utilities director Scott Parris complained Bagwell had acted inappropriately by lowering an abnormally high bill of a customer.  Bagwell now says City Administrator Nancy Goehle will schedule a regular series of complaint sessions.
