Charles Ray “C.R.” Mathis

   Seneca – Charles Ray Mathis, Sr., 78, widower of the late Barbara Mathis, of 919 E. North 1^st Street, passed away Friday, September 22, 2017 at his home.

 

   A native of Jackson County, NC, Mr. Mathis was the son of the late Samuel and Nettie Mathis.  Mr. Mathis is survived by his three daughters, Sheila O’Kelley (Jim) of Central, Katherine Earle (Kevin) of Seneca, and Elaine Kurtz (David) also of Seneca; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

 

   In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Charles R. Mathis, Jr.; sisters, Alice Moody, Lucille Johnson, and Dellie Bryson; and brothers, Samuel and Tommy Mathis.
