Committee recommends grant application

Oconee County Council will be asked to approve filing a grant application to hire a sheriff’s officer dedicated to combating the use of methamphetamine.  Sheriff Mike Crenshaw last night approached the county council law enforcement committee and elicited a 3 to 0 vote to recommend the grant application to the full council.  Chairman Wayne McCall showed his support by saying that meth addicts, to satisfy their habit, resort to burglary and other crimes to help feed their addiction.
