Communication and consistency are key, builders say

Communication and consistency were words heard over again yesterday afternoon when Oconee County Council held a listening session with many of the county’s builders.  Council members, such as Paul Cain, said county leaders benefit greatly when they hear directly from those affected by policy.  Cain said the message is clear to him.  He said “I think we need to repair it (the building codes department.)  Cain and his colleagues heard from builder such as Doug LeCroy, who told them that builders value the relationships they’ve made with the building codes’ staff.  “I think this is a horrible, knee-jerk reaction,” he warned.
