Complaint office opens at City Hall

An office for Westminster residents to register complaints about their city government is about to open at City Hall.  Mayor Brian Ramey announced yesterday that he and occasionally members of city council will occupy a small office for the purpose of hearing residents who come to City Hall with a gripe.  Ramey says the complaint office run by elected officials will allow Jeff Lord, city administrator, more time to carry out the duties of his job.  The mayor described Lord as very busy with the regular day-to-day duties of city administrator.  From an audience that packed Tuesday night’s meeting room, Ramey and the city council heard complaints about the city’s electric power bills, the cleanup project at the former Beacon Mill, and the way some citizens say they’ve been handled when they’ve brought complaints to City Hall staff.
