Conditions apply to sewer expansion to Oconee

Permission for Clemson University to extend sewer service into part of Oconee County is being granted under special conditions, spelled out during a meeting last night of the Oconee Joint Regional Sewer Authority.  The university seeks to extend sewer from its wastewater facilities across the county line from Pickens to serve a complex of university property on highway 93 at the former YMCA location.  As part of the conditions spelled out in language approved last night by the JRSA commissioners, the extension of university sewer service into that section of Oconee County is limited to the university property only and applies only as long as the university operates sewer facilities.
