Coroner sent to Mountain Rest

A public safety responder has confirmed to 101.7/WGOG NEWS that the coroner has been called to the rescue and search area at Mountain Rest. Crews searching the Big Bend area of Northern Oconee County located the body of an adult male. Charlie King of Oconee Emergency Services said, “We do not have any additional details to release at this time. More information will be foth coming.”  The Big Bend/Cherry Hill area has been the scene a cold and, at times, blustery, search this week for a missing North Carolina man, Scott Turner, last seen last weekend.  Family members found his truck in the search vicinity.
